Lawnfield, James A. Garfield's Mentor, Ohio farm, hosted the 1880 'front porch' campaign that carried him to the White House just months before his assassination. The NPS site includes the restored family home with the first presidential memorial library, a visitor center in the 1893 carriage house, and free guided tours.
